FAMILIES AND KIDS

Vacation Activities: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill is offering a variety of activities during school vacation week, Feb. 20 to 24. Cost is $25 for members and $60 for non-members and includes lunch and snack each day. Sports activities include a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, homerun derby, freethrow and 3-point contest, 2-ball/jump rope competition, a spelling bee and computer whiz trivia, foosball, bumper pool and air hockey tournaments, as well as jewelry making and paper mache. Trophies, medals and awards will be given out Feb. 23. For more information call 978-374-6171.

Historic Childrens Workshop: The Buttonwoods Museum will host a Past Finders school vacation workshop focusing on 19th century quilting in preparation for the Haverhill Historical Society's summer's exhibit, "Haverhill's Women in the Civil War." The workshop is Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to students in grades one through six. Activities include stitching squares for doll-size quilts and viewing quilts and Civil War artifacts in the museum's collection. Parents are encouraged to join the group at 12:45 p.m. for a 19th century style snack. Cost is $10 for non-members and $7 for members. All craft materials and a snack are included in the workshop fee. A registration form is required for each child attending. Space is limited. School vacation week activities: The public library is offering the following activities for school-age children during school vacation week.

Mardi Gras program: Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. For ages 5 and up.

Video Game Program for Teens: Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. For ages 12 to 18.

Science Magic: Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. For ages 5 and up. RSVP is required.

Dance Party: Feb 22 at 3:30 p.m. For ages 5 and up.

Scavenger Hunt: Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. For ages 5 and up.
