Fair offers visitors a chance to find jobs

NECC to host second annual Campus Classic 5K/Fun Run: Northern Essex Community College will host its second annual Campus Classic 5K and Fun Run on May 3.

The USATF certified 5K race will begin at 10 a.m. on the college’s Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St., and wind through the rural campus and the surrounding residential neighborhood. Competitive runners — as well as novices and walkers — are invited to participate. Registration for the 5K is $25 before April 5 and $30 after that date. Online registration will remain open until April 30.

Children ages 12 and younger are invited to participate in the Fun Run, which is organized by age group with the first race beginning at 9 a.m. Registration for the Fun Run is $10. Following the race, there will be children’s activities including face painting and an obstacle course.

STEM College for Kids returns to NECC: Northern Essex Community College’s STEM College for Kids summer program will return to the Haverhill campus July 7 to Aug. 1.

Participants can enroll for one week or all four weeks. While the program is designed with a focus on fun Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) courses, there are many art and athletic opportunities to choose from.

Children are encouraged to explore different subjects, gain new knowledge, and develop new skills in an engaging and supervised college campus environment.
