Educational workshop offered: Historic New England’s Haverhill office is offering a new educational outreach workshop for older adults at community centers and residential facilities across the region.

“Remembering Home’’ uses a teaching collection of 20th-century objects and images – from Depression glass to Jello – to evoke memories of the way people lived. The three-week workshop is designed to stir up conversations about homes and housework, food and consumers, entertainment and communication. For one man, a meat-grinder brought back the smells in the kitchen when his mother cooked hamburgers. For another, a pair of ice tongs produced visions of summer days when the delivery man doled out ice chips to the neighborhood kids.

At the end of the workshop, some of these memories are preserved in personalized “I Am From’’ poems – a creative writing activity, which yields vivid imagery. The workshop will be offered at the Citizens Center on March 5 at 1 p.m.

Volunteers sought: Volunteers are needed at the Citizens Center on Mondays and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

For details, call 978-374-2390.

Bingo games played: Bingo is played at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., every Monday and Thursday at 1 p.m., and Super Bingo is played on Mondays only.

Players 60 and older or those who are disabled are welcome to play.
