There's an old saying that Christmas is for kids.
In Haverhill, the 2010 VFW Santa Parade will be for kids, too.
Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to enter a contest to choose the name for this year's holiday parade.
The winner will get to ride on a float in the parade and will win prizes, said organizer Joan Cranton.
Entries must be received by June 25 and may be sent to:

Include your name and a way for the parade committee to contact you if you're the winner.
Fundriaising for the parade continues all year -round. Those who would like to help fund the parade can take part in one or both of the organizers' lotteries:
For two tickets each to the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and the Patriots games. Tickets are $10 each. The drawing is July 1 at the VFW.
Christmas in July Calendar. Entrants can win money each day of the month in July. The calendar is $10.
