Past Finders makes history fun for kids

During this period, UNO’s will donate 20 percent of your total bill directly to your chosen school. Just present a fundraiser ticket to your server. The school that raises the most money will receive a SMART Interactive Response System and applicable software valued at $4,000 and donated by CCS New England. This year’s sponsors are CCS New England, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and Align Credit Union.

Align Credit Union is providing weekly incentive prizes to schools that raise the most money during the program. Prizes include a laptop, iPad and a $500 Staples gift card. A celebration party will be held at the end of April. Fundraiser tickets are available online at www.haverhill-ps.org or www.haverhillchamber.org and are valid for use in the restaurant and bar, as well as for take-out, delivery and catering. Tickets may be printed or shown to your server on your phone.

First-time home buyer training offered: Community Action Inc. will offer first-time home buyer education classes for area residents beginning March 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Presidential Gardens Community Room, 140 Evergreen Drive, Bradford.

Participants will receive comprehensive information offered by housing professionals including bank lenders, buyer/seller real estate brokers, housing attorneys, insurance agents home inspectors and credit counselors.

A Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative approved certificate is awarded after completion of the three-night course. The program is also approved by MassHousing. The dates for the course are March 27, April 1 and April 4. The cost is $60 per household. There are no income requirements to take the training.
