NECC students to perform Shakespearean comedy

Families and individuals who live near the playground are encouraged to attend this event, which will include a complimentary dinner and an alternate activity for children. Preregistration is encouraged to ensure sufficient food and child care.

The agenda includes a review of the basic layout for the renovated site, which is expected to include a playground area for children and a basketball court. The planning team will present various options for play equipment and seek feedback from potential playground users about which they would like to see included.

Trip to Foxwoods Casino planned: Bethany Community Services and the Haverhill Council on Aging will host a trip to Foxwoods Casino on Nov. 20.

The trip departs from the Merrivista apartment complex on Water Street at 6:15 a.m. and from the Highway Department, 500 Primrose St., at 6:45 a.m. Cost of $30 includes deluxe motor coach transportation, a full buffet lunch and slot play. Early signup is encouraged by calling 978-374-2165 or 978-374-2390, ext. 11 or ext. 16. Payment in full is due at sign up.

Horgan Memorial Swim Meet planned: Haverhill High School will host the third annual Michael J. Horgan Memorial Swim meet on Nov. 30 at 2 p.m.

Registration begins at 1 p.m. Swimmers of all ages are invited to attend this relay-based meet. Proceeds will go towards a scholarship awarded in Horgan’s name. Entries will be accepted on Saturday at the meet.

All registered swimmers will receive long-sleeve commemorative t-shirts and bathing caps for a $25 registration fee, or $10 for 12 and under. Registration at the door is $30. Spectator admission is a suggested donation of $10. New this year is the option of creating your own relay team. Participants and spectators can register online at www.mikehorganswimmeet.org.
