The Haverhill Crossings housing complex and the Council on Aging will host a Mother’s Day tea on May 12 at Haverhill Crossings, 254 Amesbury Road.
Entertainment will be provided by musician Eric McFadden.
Admission is free.

Trip planned to “Art in Bloom’’ exhibit: The city’s Council on Aging is planning a trip to the “Art in Bloom’’ exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on April 28.
“Art in Bloom” is an annual exhibit at the museum. This festival of flowers event brings together dozens of New England garden clubs and professional designers to create floral displays interpreting art from the museum’s collection.

‘Bones and Brain’ exercise: The exercise class “Bones and Brain” is underway Mondays at 11 a.m.
Classes will be held at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. This is a comprehensive program of fitness appropriate for senior citizens. The program focuses on balance training to prevent falls, strength training to increase bone density, and age-appropriate trivia to challenge the brain. Herbs discussion planned: Herbalist Suzanne Wicks will present a program on culinary herbs May 21 at 10 a.m. Learn the history of four herbs, how to grow and use them, and whether they have medicinal properties.
Participants will plant an herb patio garden and receive recipes for using these four herbs. A door prize will be provided. There is a $10 fee for the cost of plants and materials. Please bring your own 8-to-12-inch diameter by 12-inch-high decorative pot. Call 978-374-2390 to sign up for this workshop and pay registration fee.
