Farmers Market Cooking Class: Come to Groveland on Sat. Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. for an evening of cooking, learning, and dining. This farm-to-table class focuses on using the seasons’ best ingredients from area local farms. The class is hands-on with instruction and include recipes and wonderful meal at the end of the evening! Summer Music Series: The 2012 season of the Make Some Noise free summer music series continues Thursday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. in Columbus Park with a performance by Dennis Brennan, an award-winning rocker from Boston. Opening act is Paul Prue. In case of rain, performances are at the Chit Chat Lounge, 103 Washington St. The Make Some Noise music series continues through Sept. 20 and is funded by a grant from the Haverhill Cultural Council. Outdoor concerts: The Bradford Common free outdoor summer music series continues Friday, Aug. 3 with Paul Prue & the Bradford Cats. The show starts at 6 p.m. on Bradford Common with a warm-up by Snake Oil. The series continues with EJ Ouellette and Crazy Maggie on Aug. 10 and concludes with Lance Bryant and the Mike Cesati Quintet on Aug. 17. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets, children and pets. Youth Soccer Clinic: Haverhill High will host the Hillie Youth Soccer Clinic on August 6-10 from 9 a.m to noon at Haverhill High School. The clinic is for boys and girls ages 5 to 13. Golf Tournament: The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill will hold its annual Golf Tournament Aug. 6 at the Haverhill Country Club. Registration and lunch is at 11:30 a.m. Tee-off and a shotgun start is at 1 p.m. The event includes an awards program, a silent auction and barbecue dinner. Cost is $200 per golfer or $50 for the dinner only. Hole sponsorship is $250. Featured auction item is a private dinner with Wes Welker of the New England Patriots.
