Cholesterol Screenings: A representative from Activmed will be at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide free cholesterol screenings. Screenings will be done in the nurses office. A representative from Methuen Village will be at the Citizens Center Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. for a talk on Healthy Eating for One. Farmer’s Market Coupons: The Council on Aging will distribute coupons for the Haverhill Farmers Market to qualified low-income seniors from Haverhill, Groveland, Georgetown, Rowley and Boxford on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. The outdoor market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located next to the police station on Bailey Boulevard. Qualified seniors must be age 60 or older and be eligible for Supplemental Social Security Income, Section 8 Housing, or fuel/energy assistance. Photo ID and proof of eligibility are required: SSI card, Section 8 Voucher, or Fuel/Energy Assistance letter from agency stating qualification for the program. Summer Music Series: The 2012 season of the Make Some Noise free summer music series continues Thursday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. in Columbus Park with a performance of blues music by paul Prue & Co. Opening act is Jeffery Bickford. Student bands from Be Imagine Studios perform in Washington Square.
