Dolly n' Me Princess Tea: Winnekenni Castle will holds its annual spring Dolly n' Me Princess Tea June 10 at 1 p.m. This signature castle event is an opportunity for young girls to wear their frilly finest and have a special grown-up day. The event will feature fancy finger food and treats, tea from fancy pots, photo opportunities and a visit with the Princess of Winnekenni Castle. A genuine American Girl Doll will be raffled. Doll clothes and other favorite items will be available for purchase. This event is recommended for children ages 3 and up. Tickets, available online in advance, are $20 per child and $25 per adult. If space is available, tickets at the door will be $25 per child and $30 per adult. Seating is limited. For tickets or more information visit winnekenni.com.

Youth Academy: The Essex County Sheriff's Department will host a Youth Academy for children ages 12 to 15 and a Junior Leadership Academy for children ages 8 to 11. Both programs are free and will be offered to communities in the region, including Haverhill, July 9 to 13; Lawrence, July 30 to Aug. 3, and Methuen, Aug. 20 to 24. While the Junior Leadership Academies in Beverly and Masconomet are full, enrollment is still open in all of the other academies. The program runs weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children will tour the Essex County correctional facility, and will participate in Laser Quest, archery, the new ropes course at Essex Agricultural School, a fishing trip, a class with the Essex County District Attorney's Office, a K-9 demonstration, a cookout/graduation and more. Activities for the Junior Leadership Academy will include indoor rock climbing, Curious Creatures, a fishing trip, Jump On In, bowling, a K-9 demonstration, a cookout/graduation and more. Sheriff Frank G. Cousins Jr. and his staff are providing a program that gets young people off the streets for a week, and allows them to experience a fun, educational and safe program.
