The Lamp Post

The Lamplighter hopes everyone enjoyed a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. The weather was certainly perfect for it.

While browsing the Haverhill Public Library's collections, the Lamplighter wished the selection of philosophy books included a few more classical selections from Plato and Nietzsche with less "Chicken Soul for the Introspective Soul."

Burlington may have rejected the proposal for Massachusetts' first Dave and Buster's restaurant, but the Lamplighter can't help but wonder if the Woolworth building downtown or some of the city's industrial park space might attract the company here.

It's a new month and roadwork along Route 125 in Bradford continues to drag slowly along. Hopefully bizarre traffic patterns haven't inconvenienced students travelling to Zion Bible College or Hunking Middle School along that route.

The Lamplighter encourages everyone to observe a moment of silence or attend one of the many remembrance events on Sept. 11, this Sunday.
