Tuesday is downtown movie night

Outdoor movies in downtown Haverhill will continue this summer featuring theme nights and a variety of family-friendly movies.

Movies are shown every Tuesday night at 8:30 in Columbus Park. Families are encouraged to bring seating.

On July 27, a special Christmas theme night is planned to offer the spirit of the season in the middle of July. Carol sing-a-longs, arts and crafts, and free food are planned for the screening of "The Polar Express".

These movie nights are sponsored by Hamel Mill Lofts and England's MicroCreamery.

The films to be shown are:

June 22: "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" PG

June 29: "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" PG

July 6: "Spiderman 2" PG-13

July 13: "Monsters vs Aliens" PG

July 20: "Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom" PG

July 27: Christmas in July with "The Polar Express" G

Aug. 3: "Tale of Despereaux" G

Aug. 10: "Bee Movie" G

Aug. 17: Rain date for any showings canceled by bad weather.
