Here are other local events and activities for senior citizens:

Independence Day party planned: The Council on Aging is planning a Fourth of July celebration for July 3 at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

The event will be from 1 to 3 p.m.

George Whitehouse of A Good Times DJ will play music from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Lunch will be provided by Broadway Caterers. Tickets are $8 per person.

Tickets are available by contacting Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.

The celebration is one of several social events put on by the Council on Aging each year. Winnekenni Castle is also the venue of some of the events.

Lowell Spinners tickets available: Grandparents, children and grandchildren are welcome to enjoy a night at the ball park to watch the Lowell Spinners on July 22.

The game will begin at 7 p.m. Senior citizens will receive a voucher for tickets, a hot dog and a drink.

Medicare program discussed: A. Cynthia Smith from the Elder Service Plan of the North Shore will discuss its Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) on June 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

PACE is a Medicare program for older adults and people over age 55 with disabilities. This program provides community-based care and services to people who otherwise need nursing home level of care. The program provides all the care and services covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Seniors ability to pay will never keep them from getting necessary care. Call 978-374-2390 to register.
