Winnekenni Castle will host its annual Independence Day pancake breakfast on July 4 from 8 to 11 a.m.
Visitors can fill their plates with pancakes, sausages, baked beans and home fries and enjoy juice, coffee, tea and cocoa for only $3 per child and $6 per adult. There will also be a children’s coloring contest and decorated “anything-on-wheels” parade.
Contest and parade participants should be ready and entered by 10:15 a.m. Line up for the parade is at 10:30 a.m.
Prizes for best decorated wheels and coloring champs will be awarded. Children can enjoy balloons and bubble creations with Doctor Goose. Traditional lawn toys will be out on the field.
Winnekenni Castle is on Castle Road at Winnekenni Park, 347 Kenoza Ave.

Garden of the Month: The Haverhill Garden Club’s Garden of the Month program is once again in full swing.
Each month a resident’s garden will be designated “Garden of the Month” and the club is asking friends and neighbors to nominate gardens that are eye-catching and demonstrate the loving care of the owners.

Free Vacation Bible School: King of Grace Church in Bradford is offering a free Vacation Bible School program from July 7 to 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Preregistration is preferred but not required. The church is at 28 Chadwick St. More information is available by calling 978-374-6562.
Learn about genealogy: Have you ever thought about researching your family history but didn’t know where to begin?
The public library can help. Elysia Hamelin, librarian in the Special Collections Department, will teach a free introduction to genealogy class on July 22 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Registration is required and begins July 8.
