Hockey game in memory of late Hillie player coming up

Friends of former Haverhill High School hockey player Michael Gray will hold their first Mike Gray Memorial Hockey Game at the Haverhill Valley Forum rink in Bradford on Mother’s Day, May 11.

Many of Gray’s former Hillie teammates will take to the ice in a tribute to their friend, who died of complications related to drug abuse.

Proceeds from the event will go to Chris Herren’s Project Purple, which encourages people of all ages to stand up to drug and alcohol abuse.

The memorial hockey game is free to attend, but organizers are asking for donations in lieu of an admission charge. The event will include raffles, T-shirts for sale, and a bake sale, in addition to the hockey game. The forum is located at 7 Park Ridge Road.
