Community yard sale returns

The Rocks Village Memorial Association Inc. will bring back its popular community yard sale fundraiser.

It will be on May 31 and June 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hand Tub House, 1 River Road, at the corner of East Main Street on the Haverhill side of the Rocks Village Bridge.

Hundreds of items that have been donated over the past few years in anticipation of the return of the event will be sold, including furniture, kitchen and household items, tools, toys, books, electronics and collectibles.

This event was held annually until the Rocks Village Bridge was closed for renovations in June of 2012. The bridge was reopened last fall.

Proceeds will go towards matching grants the Association received from the Methuen Festival of Trees, Essex Heritage Partnership Grant and the Massachusetts Historical Commission. Funding supports the ongoing preservation of the historic Hand Tub House, a circa 1840s fire station and community center located on the Haverhill side of the Rocks Village Bridge. This event is organized by the nonprofit Rocks Village Memorial Association Inc. More information is available by calling 978-994-4628.
