:Mass held to honor public safety personnel: A Blue Mass honoring all public safety personnel in Greater Haverhill will be held May 5 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Church. A banquet will follow in the lower level of the church. Awards and prizes will be offered in recognition of service. Family and friends are invited. First time home buyer workshop: Community Action Inc. is offering a first time home buyer education workshop for area residents beginning March 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Presidential Gardens Community Room, 140 Evergreen Drive, Bradford. Participants will receive comprehensive information offered by housing professionals including bank lenders, buyer/seller real estate brokers, housing attorneys, insurance agents home inspectors and credit counselors. A state approved certificate is awarded after completion of the three-night course. Classes are March 28 and April 2 and 4. The cost is $60 per household. Chair massages at Citizens Center: The Council on Aging announced that chair massages will be available at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., on the first Tuesday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon. Licensed massage therapist Susan Ploueffe offers senior citizen pricing of $5 per session. This service is provided on a walk-in basis.

League of Women Voters to show free movie: In honor of National Women’s Month, the League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill will present a free showing of “Norma Rae” March 14 in Room 45 of the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. The movie begins at 7 p.m. Discussion and refreshments will follow. Norma Rae is the story of a southern female mill worker who fought for union and equal rights for women. More information is available by calling 978-702-4502.
