Granite Statesmen Barbershop Chorus presents holiday concert

It’s time to bring the holidays home in song.

The Granite Statesmen Barbershop Chorus will present a holiday concert Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Hearts Church.

Admission is free.

The 45-member award-winning chorus will sing holiday favorites, including “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “The Secret of Christmas” in four-part harmony. The church is at 165 S. Main St.

Holiday photo event and art exhibit: Winnekenni Castle will hold its first “Portrait Photos by the Castle Christmas Tree Night” and De Clerck Gallery Art Exhibit on Dec. 12 from 5 to 9 p.m.

This event will feature portrait photo sittings with the Castle’s Christmas tree as a backdrop. A professional photographer from “More than Memories” will take holiday portrait photos. For the cost of $20, you will receive a take-home disc with two ready-to-print high resolution poses. Additional poses are $5 each. The photographer will also be taking purchase orders, as desired, to professionally print your holiday portraits for a keepsake and/or gifting.

An art exhibit will feature oils, pastels, charcoals and pencil. All works will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to the castle.

The castle’s 2013 collectible handcrafted, hand-blown holiday ornaments will be available for $12 each and come in their own gift sack, making them perfect for your collection or for gift giving. Castle booklets, “The Story of Winnekenni” by Donald C. Freeman, will be available for $5 each and make a unique gift or companion to the collectible ornaments. Complimentary refreshments will be available.
