Annual Christmas party coming up

It’s time to get ready for one of Haverhill’s biggest events of the year for senior citizens.

Tickets are available at the Citizens Center for the annual Council on Aging Holiday/Christmas party to be held at DiBurro’s function hall.

The event will be Dec.18 at 11:30 a.m.

For tickets, call the Council on Aging at 978-374-2390. Tables of 10 may be reserved.

Here are events and activities for Haverhill senior citizens:

New Year’s Eve party: Best of Times and the Haverhill Council on Aging are offering a New Year’s Eve Day Party at the Danversport Yacht Club on Dec. 31.

The trip includes transportation, luncheon, show, orchestra, party favors and champagne toast. Cost is $79 per person. For more information, call 978-374-2390.

Museum trip: Do you have an interest in travelling to the Peabody Essex Museum to see the “Impressionists on Water” exhibit?

This trip will happen in late January. Please contact the Council on Aging at 978-374-2390 if you would like information on this trip. The date and time will be announced.

Being aware of Medicare changes: Please remember to check out any changes to your Medicare Part D Program.

Remember to consider affordability as well as coverage. Forms are available at the Council on Aging to assist you in determining which is the best Part D plan for you.

Wood carving class resumes in the spring: The Council on Aging wood carving class will resume in the spring of 2014.

Students are taught by master carver Fred Arakelian. He has won many awards over the past 22 years. Registration is required. A carving kit of supplies will be provided at a one-time-per-project charge of $18. Carving knives will be loaned to you for free. Course cost is $5 per class for an eight-week session. Registration is required for new students.
