Last call for trees, wreaths for annual Festival of Trees

It's Christmas tree time.

If you want to participate in a community holiday tree event, here's your chance.

The last day to drop off trees and wreaths for the 12th annual “Christmas at the Buttonwoods: A Festival of Trees” is Nov. 17.

Entry forms are available online at www.haverhillhistory.org or at the Buttonwoods Museum/Haverhill Historical Society, 240 Water St. Trees and wreaths may be dropped off Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The museum will be closed Nov. 13 and 14 and not accept drop-offs on those days. More information is available by calling 978-374-4626 or emailing FOT@haverhillhistory.org. Visit online at www.haverhillhistory.org.

Haverhill High drama club performances: The Haverhill High School drama club will perform "Almost Maine," a play by John Cariani, on Nov. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

General admission is $7, or $5 for students and senior citizens.

Something magical is happening in the mythical town of Almost Maine. It’s 9 p.m. on a cold, clear, winter night and as the Northern Lights dance across the sky, nine very different couples all experience the lightening strike of love at exactly the same magical moment. Since 2009, "Almost Maine" has been the most produced play by high schools in America.

The cast includes Declan McDermott, Jessica Begin, Emily Bresnahan, Richard Roy, Kaylynn Mele, Aubrie Campbell, Matt Amedeo, McKenna Judge, Jordan Faro, Erin Lannan, Camille Clark, Caroline Milligan, Jacob Grandmaisson, Grace Azzarito, Jill Zuber, Gabriel Waters, Bobby Gariepy and Taylor House.
