Overcomers, a 12-step program, meets every Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of New Creation Healing Center, 148 Plaistow Road, Plaistow, N.H. Each Thursday is a "step meeting," where the focus is on one of the 12 steps of the recovery program. Individuals may attend as frequently or infrequently as they wish. Farming: The Essex National Heritage Commission is having an evening of networking, fun and education on farming in Essex County June 7, 6 to 9 p.m., Smith Barn adjacent to Brooksby Farm, Peabody. Learn about the many benefits of locally grown agricultural products. Features locally grown foods, a barbecue, and first-ever online-to-live "Heritage" auction. Hunter education: The Massachusetts Hunter Education Program is conducting a free Basic Hunter Education course. Upon successful completion, all students will receive a Massachusetts Hunter Education certificate. Courses are scheduled over five to six weekday nights. Students must attend each session. Observatory EduTrips: Spend a night at the Mount Washington weather station to experience weather that some have called the world's worst and learn about the mountain environment. Observatory educational trips run on many weekends and some midweek dates into April. Trips include snow tractor transportation up and down the mountain, meals and overnight lodging at the observatory. World Music
Dulce Pontes on May 13 at 8 p.m. at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Ave., Boston. Pontes' songs draw from the raw passions of fado along with diverse sources of Portuguese popular music to produce a rich, modern sound. Tickets are $37, $32 and $28.
Angelique Kidjo on May 19 at 8 p.m. at the Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square, Somerville. With a captivating voice and dazzling stage presence, Kidjo transforms her many musical influences into a riveting Afro-pop tour de force. Tickets are $40 and $30. Phillips Academy
Academy Jazz Band and Chapin Guest Artist Dominique Eade on May 11 at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Thomas D. Chapin fund. This event is free and open to the public.
Gospelfest concert on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. This event benefits the Sojourner Truth Scholarship Fund. The program includes performances by The New England Gospel Ensemble, Joyful Voices of Inspiration, the Boston Community Chorus and various guest artists.
Academy Concert Band and ensembles will perform on May 13 at 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Philips Academy Chamber Music Society, comprised of faculty and students, will perform May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Timken Room at Graves Hall on campus. The program will include movements of chamber music by Kodaly, Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Kaiser, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Shostakovich, Schubert and Mozart. This concert is free and open to the public.
The Symphony and Chamber Orchestras will perform May 25 at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature Sol Jin from Andover and Christopher Li from Worcester, performing concert arias directed by William Thomas. This concert is free and open to the public.

"RESPECT, A Musical Journey" announces its final performance on May 20 at the Stuart St. Playhouse, 200 Stuart St., Boston, in the Radisson Hotel. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.; on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month there is a 2 p.m. matinee, and a Sunday evening performance at 6 p.m. is added on the first and third week each month. "Artifex: Works from the Senior Concentration Seminar" will be on display now through May 25 at the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery at the College of the Holy Cross. Artist Anne Silber will exhibit her work at the Firehouse Center for the Arts, Newburyport, from now to June 4. Her works include limited edition serigraphs, or silkscreen prints, hand-printed by the artist using hand-cut lacquered film stencils.
