:Flag Football announced: Havoc flag football invites all NFL Play 60 flag football teams and their commissioners to a Round Robin at Trinity Stadium in Haverhill.
Events will be held on Sundays at 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 8 and will run for eights weeks. Cost of $89 per player includes NFL game jersey, belt, flag and insurance, or $69 with insurance but no game jersey, belt or flag. Register online at www.havocflagfootball.com or call 978-400-6058.
:Scout Troop celebrates 100 years: Troop One Haverhill, the oldest Boy Scout troop in the Yankee Clipper Council, will hold its 100th anniversary celebration on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at North Point Bible College, 320 S. Main St., Bradford.
There will be a program with a guest speaker followed by dinner. Tickets are $20 per person. Troop One was first chartered in 1913 by Grace United Methodist Episcopal Church, now called Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, less than three years after the founding of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop One has the honor of having the first Eagle Scout in Haverhill. Florimond A. Delforge earned the award in November of 1928.
Sixty-two scouts have earned the rank of Eagle Scout over the years. The troop is presently lead by George Plouffe Jr., scoutmaster, and Brian P. Kirkham, troop committee chairman. Library offers Beginner Internet Classes: The public library is offering free Beginner Internet Classes.
The classes are small, with lots of individual attention and hands-on practice. Each class is two hours long. You do not have to own a computer to take these classes but you are welcome to come with your own wireless enabled laptop. Classes require advance sign-up.
