Ruth’s House, a nonprofit thrift store and clothing pantry located at 111 Lafayette Square, will hold a Christmas Raffle and Penny Auction Fundraiser on Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brookridge Community Church, 232 Main St. Tickets are available at Ruth’s House in advance at $10 for 25 tickets, or $15 for 25 at the event. Ruth’s House is also asking that you consider making a donation from your business or organization in either the form of money or a prize to be auctioned off to help make this event a success. Proceeds will enable Ruth’s House to continue its ministry. Ruth’s House has a unique referral program, named “Hands Across The Valley,” that enables it to give each referred client four free complete outfits, new undergarments and socks. Each client is given weather-appropriate clothing four times a year. So far this year Ruth’s House has clothed over 5,000 clients. Tea Fundraiser

Somebody Cares New England is hosting a Christmas Candlelight Tea on Saturday, December 1 at 4 p.m. Enjoy an enchanted evening filled with great food, friends and fashion! There will be live music, raffles and a fashion show with a live auction! Location: 358 Washington St. Haverhill, MA.

Free Medical Seminar

Breast Care in the Elderly, a Medical Meet the Expert seminar with General Surgeon Kathryn Hughes, MD, is Dec. 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Merrimack Valley Hospital’s first floor auditorium. Hughes will discuss breast cancer risk in elderly women, breast cancer screening strategies for elderly women, and the latest treatment and management of breast cancer in elderly women. Free and open to the public. Registration is required. One free contact hour in nursing awarded at the end of the presentation. Light refreshments will be served.
