For artists and those interested in learning, a master in our midst will show the finer points of oil painting this month.
Local artist Mark Hayden will present an oil portrait study demonstration for the Greater Haverhill Arts Association on Sept. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Hayden, a Copley Master artist, has received the prestigious Schroeder Award for Excellence in Portraiture. Through the Copley Society, he has exhibited his works frequently, including master shows at the Harvard Club of Boston and St. Botolph’s Club. He was featured in an article in American Artist Magazine in July 1994.
A native and lifelong resident of Bradford, Hayden conducts classes at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence, as well as at his home studio in Bradford. The public is welcome at the demonstration, although space is limited.
