Native American Intertribal Pow-Wow returns to city


Haverhill Senior Baseball registers players: Haverhill Senior Baseball is accepting applications for the 2013 fall program.

The league has three divisions — for 13-year-olds, 14- and 15-year-olds, and 16- to 18-year-olds. The seasons run from the first weekend after Labor Day, Sept. 10 and 11, through Oct. 26 and 27. The 13-year-old and 14- to 15-year-old divisions play on Saturday. The 16- to 18-year-old division plays on Sunday.

Food, Wine and Beer Pairing event: Off to the Races, a Food, Wine and Beer Pairing event to benefit Merrimack Valley Hospice, will be held on Sept. 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown.

Guests will experience some of the world’s most famous places and races from the Alaskan Iditarod to the Monaco Grand Prix, along with accompanying cuisine and beverages and entertainment by the George Farrell Group and NuImage Entertainment. A signature silent auction will feature nearly 100 items, including a well-stocked wine refrigerator, premium tickets to New England sporting events and unique dining experiences.

Geriatric psychiatry conference planned: Geriatric Neuropsychiatry 2013, Merrimack Valley Hospital’s third annual geriatric psychiatry conference, will be Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus of Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott St.

Speakers and topics are as follows: Shabbir Abbasi, MD- Parkinson’s Disease: Etiology, Pathology, Clinical Features and Neuropsychiatric Treatment.
