Lovable kittens are up for adoption through Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley, which has adopt-a-thons at Petco on Thursdays in Plaistow, N.H., from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays in North Andover from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cats and kittens are neutered, tested and microchipped and have shots up-to-date. A one-month pet health insurance is included. There is a reduced adoption fee of $75 for kittens and cats 6 months and older to free up foster homes for the upcoming kitten season. Special needs cats such as the very shy are also $75.
