"Thanksgiving in May" on Saturday, May 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. at All Saints Parish in the church hall. A complete turkey dinner will be served. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 children under 12.

Trinity Episcopal Church

Trinity Choir and guest singers will lead the service of Evensong on Sunday, May 25, in the late afternoon. It will be a time to pray together through music. The Bible readings and prayer will be selected to be appropriate to Memorial Day and the Evensong.

Hospice volunteer training: West River Care, provider of hospice services to patients in the Wingate facilities in Haverhill, Lowell, Andover, Reading and throughout greater Boston, will train volunteers at its Needham office on Saturday, May 31, and June 7. Organ recital: Jacob Street, an undergraduate student at the College of the Holy Cross, will play on Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. He is the college Organ Scholar. His program will include music by Bach, Buxtehude, Mendelssohn, Vierne and Reger. All are invited to attend. Admission is free. St. Margaret's Guild will hold a reception following the concert.

Annual Merrimack Valley Deanery Workshop Day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25. The location has not yet been determined.

Altar flowers: There are open dates on the flower calendar for those who would like to give the altar flowers on a Sunday in memory of loved ones or as a thanksgiving. To sign up, call Joan Brawley, 978-374-7773.

Volunteers are needed to visit people receiving hospice care. Training is provided and noncontact positions are available. For more information, call 781-707-9580.

St. James Parish

St. James School repair project: Parishioner Steve Nguyen volunteered to plan a day of repair and painting at the school on Saturday, July 12. Volunteers will meet at the school and try to accomplish as much as possible. People with skills and strong backs are needed. Call the rectory for more information.

Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesdays throughout the school year from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The parish is looking for commitments for 3 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 5:15 p.m. To make a regular commitment to these hours or any others, call Fran Salter at 978-372-4723.

Gerontology registrations: UMass is accepting applications for its Manning Certificate program in gerontology, which prepares students to work with the elderly. Designed to give students the skills and resources they need to plan for an aging society, work in the aging network and advocate for elders. Daytime classes are on Wednesdays for two semesters. Universalist Unitarian Church

Coffee hour hosts: May 25 open.

Choir rehearsal is every Sunday at 9 a.m. and they are looking for a few men, women and teens to join.

Performance workshops for ages 9 to 15 on Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. Each student will receive a speaking role, culminating in a performance for family and friends on Friday.

Meditation group: The Buddhist meditation group at the Unitarian Universalist Church meets the first and third Sunday of each month, 5 to 6 p.m. Peg Travers, a certified instructor with Buddha Heart International, Taiwan, and a church member, facilitates.
