The parade is over, the winners are in and Haverhill High School was selected as the best overall float in the 47th annual VFW Santa Parade. Haverhill High's float was a homage to Ski Bradford, as part of the theme of this year's parade, "Haverhill's Cultural Treasures,"
"The float was very creative," said parade organizer Joan Cranton. "The float had kids sledding down a slope. It was very well done."
Other winners included Whittier Tech, first place, and Sacred Hearts School, second place in the school division.
Wingate at Haverhill and Cedardale Health and Fitness received first and second place in the business category, while STARS Special Olympics, and Cub Scouts Pack 12 won first and second place in the individual category.
Raffle winners included Helene Murphy, first place, $500; Chris Smith, season pass to Ski Bradford; and Donna Brunelle, a pair of Bruins tickets.
