PEOPLE OF NOTE

Jeanette Erickson, 90, was this year's top contributor to the Hat and Mitten Tree at Penacook Place, a rehabilitation facility located at 160 Washington St. Erickson knitted more than a dozen hats for the tree.

Penacook's Activities Department staff began the collection drive several years ago. Visitors, residents and staff donate hats and mittens for men, women and children. At the end of the holiday season, the items are donated to local agencies serving those in need. Each year, the donation has been larger than the year before.
