Rebuilding playgrounds and more downtown murals will be discussed at Monday's Team Haverhill meeting.
The Playground Project was created when members with small children noticed that school and city playgrounds were not in good condition, especially the wooden structures, said Alice Mann, co-chair of Team Haverhill.
"Wood-constructed playgrounds are at risk. If they are not kept up, they may be torn down and possibly not replaced if funds are not available," Mann said.
The team, headed by civil engineer Dan DeRoche, is recruiting sponsors.
"We are currently in a dialogue with Lowe's to come onboard as partners," Mann said.
The Mural Project team, headed by Leota Sarrette, is preparing to unveil three murals created with children from the city's Discovery Club after-school program. The unveiling will take place during KidsFest on Sunday, May 18. The team is also lining up sponsors and locations for at least nine more murals to be completed this year.
All are welcome to attend the meeting on May 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Pentucket Bank Community Room on Merrimack Street. Attendees are asked to use the back entrance.
