Feaster Five Road Race: The Feaster Five Road Race, the Merrimack Valley's most successful and well-supported running event, allows online registration at www.feasterfive.com before Nov. 22. Affordable units available: Three discounted condominiums are available for low- and moderate-income, first-time homebuyers at Riverside Place, a development on Washington Street. The units are being sold for $181,395. Maximum annual income for a single person is $41,700; two-person household is $47,700; three-person household is $53,650; four-person household is $59,600. A deed rider will restrict the resale value of the homes to ensure the units will remain available to future low- and moderate-income buyers. Community representatives and host families needed: Academic Foundation for International Cultural Exchange is looking for individuals to work as community representatives to find host families and work with their students during the school year. Individuals must enjoy working with teenagers and have good communication skills. The foundation is also looking for host families in the local area to host a foreign exchange student. These young ambassadors are between the ages of 15 and 18 and all speak English. Students' profiles will start arriving soon from various countries. Fit 'n' Fun after-school program: Cedarland Family Fun Center is offering after-school care for children in grades one through five. Children will partake in various indoor and outdoor activities that will vary by season including: indoor play maze, outdoor playground, indoor swimming, sports games, basketball, minigolf and batting. Homework time and arts and crafts will also be offered. Children can register from one to five days a week. Drop-in care will be available if space allows and paperwork is complete. After-school child care program: The YMCA after-school child care program is enrolling for the 2008-09 school year. The program includes arts and crafts, gym games, a nutritious snack and use of the YMCA facility including the pool, gymnastics center and rock climbing wall. Kids Helping Kids: Students and their families at Little Sprouts Child Enrichment Centers are accepting gift donations for Debbie's Treasure Chest, a charity developed by three adopted girls, ages 8, 11 and 12, which targets the "forgotten kids" in state Department of Social Services custody. Car donations needed: People who would like old cars removed from their yards free of charge, or would like a quick alternative to selling or trading their vehicle, can donate them. The Haverhill Boys Club is looking to raise money to help sustain its various programs. To donate a vehicle, call 1-800-246-0493. If your vehicle is accepted, it will be picked up free of charge. The fair market value of the donation may be considered a charitable contribution for income-tax purposes. Melanoma Foundation: Everyone who donates a car or truck, running or not, will get a receipt for a tax deduction. MAB Community Services (formerly the Massachusetts Association for the Blind) provides services and programs to the blind and vision-impaired of Massachusetts. Free tow and pickup. Ruth's House: Ruth's House, a nonprofit, nondenominational thrift store at 26-30 Lafayette Square, needs spring and summer clothing for all ages, especially men's jeans and other clothing. Also needed are blankets, sheets, towels, pots, pans and dishes. Ruth's House also needs volunteers to donate as few or as many hours as possible. All donations are tax-deductible and donors will be issued receipts for their gifts. YMCA activities

YMCA fall registration begins: The Haverhill YMCA has begun its fall program registration for swim lessons, gymnastics, the flag football league, rock climbing and art classes for kids. Adults can register for Boot Camp, Boomer Extreme and Ultimate Fitness Challenge, tae kwon do and a basketball league. Registration is ongoing, but spaces are filling up fast. Aquatic activities: The Haverhill YMCA pool is open for lap swim, water aerobics and other aquatic fitness activities. Personal trainers are available for one-on-one sessions. Flick-N-Float: Spend a family night in the pool watching movies such as "Cars" and "Madagascar." With the water at 87 degrees, children rarely get cold and are able to stay in the water for the entire movie. Snacks and drinks are provided during the movie. Adaptive swim program for children and adults with special needs: This program includes an introduction to water and water-adjustment activities. Participants can have a parent or aide in the water to assist with activities if necessary. The class will be 45 minutes long. Cost is $60 for members, $90 for nonmembers.
