Artist of month to enter high school in fall
Jaclyn Solimine of Haverhill was named June Artist of the Month.
Solimine just graduated from eighth grade at Consentino Middle School. She had five art pieces hanging in Mayor James Fiorentini's office all month.
She has been studying art for two years with Susan Kneeland and enjoys pastels, pencils and watercolors, creating beautiful landscapes and still-life pictures.
"I am proud to showcase the amazing talent of our young artists. Jaclyn's work is beautiful and I am once again impressed by the great treasure we have in Haverhill with these young artists. This is a great opportunity for me to encourage our student artists and provide a place to show their work," Fiorentini said.
The Haverhill Artist of Month recognition was created by Fiorentini to foster and profile Haverhill's thriving art community.
Haverhill artists interested in being considered for Artist of the Month can submit copies of their work and artist's statement to the Mayor's Office, Room 100, City Hall, 4 Summer St.
