This all-day, all-ages family-friendly event is a benefit for the Florida-based 50 Legs Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Chamberland which raises money to provide prosthetics for children.

Leaving Eden along with local rockers including Elextacy, Inner Child, 4x4 Barracuda, Preciphist, Of The Past, the Judas Priest tribute band "Hell Bent For Judas," Guns 4 Destruction, the Alice N' Chains tribute band "Again" and Epicenter will be performing all day at the event in support of 50 Legs. WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart, former member of the band "The Gentrys," whose hit singles included “Cinnamon Girl” in 1970 will perform with Leaving Eden in a special cameo performance.

Reggae music featured: Archie's Little River Ale House in Lafayette Square will present live reggae with Dread Rocks featuring JEM-I on Aug. 25 from 5 to 10 p.m.

St. Joseph School opening announced: St. Joseph School of All Saints Parish announced its schedule for the new school year.

It is as follows: Monday, Aug. 26, teacher in-service day; Tuesday, Aug. 27, teacher in-service day (regional); Wednesday, Aug. 28, kindergarten to grade eight report for a full day; Thursday, Aug. 29, full day of classes for kindergarten to grade eight; Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day, no school; Tuesday, Sept. 3, kindergarten to grade eight classes resume; Wednesday, Sept. 4, ECC begins.

A parents meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. The school will hold an open house for grades one through eight on Monday, Aug. 26, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Open house for pre-kindergarten and nursery is Tuesday, Sept. 3, from noon to 2:20 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. All students should be in the “big school” by 8:05 a.m. School begins at 8:15 a.m. All students should arrive at the ECC by 8:15 a.m. as instruction time begins at 8:45 a.m.
