Awards breakfast

The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce will hold its 22nd annual Business Awards Breakfast Feb. 10 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Golf Club, 377 Kenoza St. Featured keynote speaker is Massachusetts State Treasurer Steve Grossman. The chamber's membership services committee holds this event to recognize member businesses that have been active in the chamber and the community throughout the year. The breakfast will honor the 11 businesses that received "Business of the Month" awards for 2011, as well as businesses that received awards in 2011 given in various categories. Kitchen/bath design course

Turn your kitchen into a culinary oasis and the bath into a spa with the help of a new, four-week, noncredit course titled "Kitchen and Bath Planning Basics." It is offered through Northern Essex Community College's Division of Workforce Development and Community Education and will be held at NECC Riverwalk, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence. Taught by veteran designer Donna Arasi-Gudinas, the class meets Wednesdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 8. The cost is $189 per person. To register call 978-556-3700.
