---- — Haverhill Community Television has hired Mary O’Neil as the station’s director of special media production and public relations.
O’Neil brings more than 20 years of experience in media arts, marketing, public relations and communications to HCTV.
O’Neil will manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional activities. Her role also includes creating and producing content programming for the government and education channels.
“Mary has the talent, creativity and knowledge of the community that HCTV needs for this position,” said Darlene Beal, executive director. “Along with Mary’s television production experience, we felt she was the perfect fit.”
O’Neil earned a master’s degree in media arts from Emerson College and a bachelor’s degree in communications from UMass Lowell. Prior to working for Haverhill Community Television, she served as the regional marketing director for Steward Health Care, overseeing all marketing efforts for Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer.
“I am thrilled to be at HCTV,’’ O’Neil said. “The station is celebrating 25 successful years of serving the community, and I am looking forward to all the great things we are going to do in the next 25 years.’’
O’Neil is an active member of the community. She is the board president of the Haverhill YMCA and has served on numerous community-based committees and co-chaired many successful events including Y for All, Educator of the Year, and the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 Winning Opportunities for Women Conference.
She is also this year’s recipient of the Book of Golden Deeds Award from the Haverhill Exchange Club.
