Bradford Huskies donate to One Fund Boston

The Bradford Huskies USA Track & Field Youth Travel Team donated $1,858 to One Fund Boston after selling more than 800 Huskies custom-made Boston Marathon pride bracelets to the community.

These unique bracelets feature the 2013 Boston Marathon colors of yellow and blue, along with the words “Huskies Love Boston.” All proceeds from the sale of these bracelets went directly to One Fund Boston Inc., which was established by Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help raise money to help those families most affected by the bombings during this year’s Boston Marathon.

The Bradford Huskies team members and coaches wish to thank those who purchased a $3 bracelet from the team for this cause. The Bradford Huskies are a nonprofit, school-based running club certified by USA Track & Field. The team is composed of students in grades three through eight who primarily attend Bradford Elementary School and Hunking Middle School in Bradford. Freedom Shrine rededication planned

The Breakfast Exchange Club of Greater Haverhill will rededicate its Freedom Shrine at the public library on June 11 at 9:30 a.m.

The event is being held as a reminder to citizens that the freedoms we enjoy today are a gift from the past and must be continually guarded and protected. The event is also an opportunity to honor men and women serving in U.S. Armed Forces.
