Folk legend Richard Shindell will perform on Saturday at 8 p.m. at the New Moon Coffeehouse in the Universalist Unitarian Church, 16 Ashland St.
Opening act is Heather Maloney.
An expatriate New Yorker now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Shindell is a meticulous craftsman of song. Innovative, original and occasionally spiritual, his songs weave tales that champion the downtrodden, exalt the disaffected or wax empathetic to those lost to society’s fringes.
Admission to the show is $25, half price for ages 18 and under. Tickets are available at the door starting around 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be reserved prior to the show by visiting www.newmooncoffeehouse.org or by calling 978-459-5134.
Bring your own mug and the coffee is only $1 for the evening. There are two parking lots available behind the church, on both sides of Ashland Street. The coffeehouse entrance is also there, at the back of the church.
