Everyone had the luck of the Irish on this day.
The meal was tasty and the entertainment great — topped off by one of Haverhill’s biggest awards of the year.
The Council on Aging’s annual St. Patrick’s Party at DiBurro’s function hall featured The D. Raymond Taffe Award for community service. The honor went to Russell Chaput, the men behind construction of the Korean War Memorial in GAR Park.
Chaput, 86, devotes his efforts to help military veterans across the community.
On this day, his friends and neighbors devoted themselves to thanking him and celebrating — Irish style.
