More Santa Fund donations arrive

The Haverhill Gazette Wed Jan 18, 2012, 04:46 PM EST

Due to a postal delay, several donations for the Haverhill Gazette Santa Fund arrived at the Gazette office last week.

All money raised after Christmas will used next holiday season to help needy families in Haverhill.

Here are the latest donations received by the Gazette:

Marion Mansur, in loving memory of Arthur Mansur Sr.$25

Shirley Hoyt, in loving memory of Herbert, Hazel, Dorothy, Helen and Robert Webster$25

Ottaviani and Winters Families, in memory of deceased family members$30

Amy and Frank Finlay$20

Zion Bible College to change its name

There will be no more Zion Bible College at the site of the former Bradford College next year.
No, Zion is not moving out. It's changing its name.
The college will be called Northpoint Bible College starting Jan. 1.

College to get new president

Another big change is coming at Zion Bible College.
School President Charles Crabtree said he will leave his post after the 2012-2013 school year.
Six months after the school gets a new name, Crabtree, 74, will retire as president. He became president in 2008 following the school's move from Barrington, RI, to Haverhill.

Bradford Post Office saved — for now

It appears residents and merchants of Bradford will continue to have their own post office — at least for now.
The Bradford office was one of 600 postal stations and branch offices being considered for closure because of financial problems.
