Editor’s note: The Haverhill Council on Aging contributes this regular column to the Gazette.

:Lunch, trivia at Uno’s: The Council on Aging will host a senior lunch and trivia event at Uno’s off Route 125 at the Plaistow line on July 17 from 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m. A senior lunch special or 30 percent off the lunch menu prices will be available. There will be prizes for the trivia games. Contact Sarah Coletti at 978-914-0514 or scoletti@unos.com for reservations.

Trip to Tanglewood, Berkshires: The Council on Aging is offering an overnight trip to Tanglewood and the Berkshires Aug. 6 and 7. The trip includes deluxe motor coach transportation, one-night hotel stay at the Comfort Inn in Pittsfield, full course luncheon, BSO concert, and admission to Ventfort Hall and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Cost is $299 per person, double occupancy.

Garden Club seeks members: The Haverhill Garden Club is looking for new members. Membership includes 10 presentations by horticultural experts. Contact Carol Sobel at 978-377-0106 for additional information.

Ice cream social: The Council on Aging will host an ice cream social at Citizens Center on July 29 at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $1 per person. Contact Kathy or Rita for tickets.

Doo Wop music performance: The Corvettes Doo Wop Revue will be held at Venus de Milo in Swansea on Sept. 5. This performance is dedicated to preserving and performing the music of the 1950s Doo Wop era. Tickets are $59 per person and include transportation, luncheon and performance.

Lowell Spinners tickets available: The Recreation Department and Council on Aging have tickets to the Lowell Spinners game on July 23 at 7 p.m. This is an opportunity for senior citizens to spend quality time enjoying wholesome entertainment with their children, grandchildren and in some cases even great-grandchildren. Grandparents will receive a complimentary hot dog and soda from the Spinners. Transportation is not included.
