Festival, fireworks on Tuesday

The city will hold its annual July 4 celebration on July 3 in Riverside Park behind Trinity Stadium.

The event will feature a fireworks display that begins at 9:15 p.m. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. and includes music by a Good Times DJ, line dancing and dancing for children. Haverhill Bank is sponsoring three free family photo booths — the kind commonly found at an amusement park. Food vendors will sell a variety of items including fried dough, lemonade, slush, hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage sandwiches.

Festival-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic food. The city budgeted $8,000 for the fireworks display and a local family foundation donated $7,000. Atlas PyroVision Productions of Jaffrey, N.H., is presenting the fireworks display. No alcoholic beverages or pets are allowed. Admission is free. Rain date is July 5 at the same time.
