Chamber to host Caribbean-themed event: The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, with co-organizer Nunan Florist & Greenhouses, will host a “Caribbean Escape” event March 1. The tropical-themed event will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Nunan’s greenhouse, 269 Central St., Georgetown, and is being held in partnership with exclusive sponsor Georgetown Savings Bank. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 for two and may be purchased by calling 978-373-5663 or by visiting www.HaverhillChamber.com.

:Scholarship offered: Community Action Inc. is offering a $1,000 Goldman Scholarship to an area resident who is enrolled in a full-time college or other post secondary program. College students from Haverhill, Amesbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, Groveland, Georgetown, Boxford, Rowley, Newbury, West Newbury and Merrimac are eligible. The scholarship is named for the late Gerald Goldman, former executive director of Community Action Inc. Applications are available at Community Action Inc., 145 Essex St., and are due by March 1. Selection of the winner will be decided by Goldman’s children and announced in April. Applications are available online at www.communityactioninc.org. :Indoor flea market is March 2: The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis will hold an indoor flea market on March 2 at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St. Doors open at 9 a.m and close at 3 p.m. Items for sale include furniture, clothing, glassware, books, jewelry, knick knacks and other bargains. Greek pastry will be for sale along with refreshments. Tables are available for rent and can be reserved by calling 978-374-8887 or 978-373-3311. The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis is a nonprofit organization of the church. Proceeds from this event support various charities.

:Youth Baseball Clinic offered: Haverhill High School will host a Hillie Youth Baseball Clinic March 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at Trinity Stadium. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will be held at Haverhill High, 137 Monument St. The clinic is for children ages 5 to 13 and will be led by Haverhill High coaches and student athletes. Cost is $25, or $20 if you sign up by Feb. 20. Checks, payable to HHS Baseball Boosters, can be sent to Haverhill Baseball, 137 Monument St., Haverhill, MA 01832.
