:Big Brother/Big Sister collecting donations: The Big Brother Big Sister Foundation is in need of the public’s support through donations of lightly used clothing and small household items. The foundation will be collecting donations door-to-door in Haverhill and Groveland on Thursday, Jan. 10. To schedule a free curbside pickup, call 1-800-483-5503 or email donate@bbbsfoundation.org. Your donations are tax deductible. The foundation also offers special pickups for electronics recycling and car donations. :Haverhill PAL Soccer In-Town Soccer registration: Online registration for the spring 2013 In-Town soccer season is open until Jan. 31. The program is for boys and girls ages 4 to 12. For more information or details on how to register your child, visit www.haverhillpal.org and click the “Online Registration” tab or email sportspilot@haverhillpal.org.

:School to hold indoor yard sale: The eighth grade class at Hunking Middle School will hold an indoor yard sale on Jan. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is being held to raise funds for student field trips. Many families will have tables featuring various household goods. There will also be live music, raffles and a bake sale.

:Church to hold bean supper: St. James Episcopal Church in Groveland will hold a bean supper on Jan. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. The meal includes hot dogs, rolls, two kinds of homemade beans, potato salads and other salads as well as homemade pies and cakes, coffee, tea and juice. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The church is at 119 Washington St. More information is available by calling 978-373-1270.

:Haverhill Senior Baseball registration: Haverhill Senior Baseball will hold sign ups for players in the Haverhill area on Jan. 19, Feb. 9, and March 2, 9, and 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Haverhill YMCA, 81 Winter St. The league has divisions for players age 13 and players ages 14 to 15. All home games will be played on a regulation 90-foot diamond on the JV field behind Trinity Stadium. Applications are available online at haverhillseniorbaseball.com or by calling Larry O’Brien at 978-373-6982 or Dan Francescone at 978-807-5068.
