---- — Students at Haverhill High School will present the Tony Award winning musical comedy, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” March 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and March 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Performances are in the Haverhill High auditorium, 137 Monument St. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and senior citizens and are available at the door. In this tale of over achievers’ angst, six young people in the throes of puberty – overseen by adults who barely escaped childhood themselves – learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.
The quirky crew leads the audience on a journey of self-discovery that ends for one of them in spelling bee victory.
The cast features Taylor House and Rosemary Kann as Rona Lisa Peretti, Egan Davis as Chip Tolentino, Grace Azzarito and Brianna McDermott as Logainne Schwartandgrubinierre, Connor Milligan as Leaf Coneybear, Marty Miller as William Barfee, Haley Peabody and Phuong Pham as Marcy Park, Danielle McDonald and Kaylynn Mele as Olive Ostrovsky, Erin Lannan as Cabbage Heywood, Hannah Manning as Sebelaya Burrito, Jeff Lee as Douglas Panch, and Jamian Figueroa and Bobby Gariepy as Mitch Mahoney.
The production team includes Sue Blim, set and costumes; Thomas Lienhard, technical crew; Marty Miller, choreographer; Ann Cope, music director and accompanist; and Joseph Gori, director.
