---- — JV Floor Hockey League Championship Finals

Don Wilson started the first period strong offensively with goals by Izaiah Murnane and Daniel Smith, giving Don Wilson a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period. At the start of the second period, James Darwin scored the third goal for Don Wilson. Coach John Tompkins was forced to call a timeout to give his AZ Landscaping & Plowing team a motivational speech. With 1:24 left on the clock, Corey Hollins and Brendan Elliot each scored a goal for AZ Landscaping. Then four minutes into the third period, John Vets scored another goal for AZ Landscaping to tie the game at 3-3, making for an intense last period. The clock was running down and everyone prepared for an overtime period. But with just eight seconds left on the clock, John Vets scored the championship-winning goal for AZ Landscaping & Plowing. Both teams did a great job all season, but only one team can be crowned champions. Congratulations to AZ Landscaping & Plowing on being the first championship team in the JV league Floor Hockey Division.

Major League Floor Hockey Semi Finals

Pistone Containers had the lead by the end of the first period against Dempsey Insurance 3-1. In the second period, Daniel Howell scored two goals for Pistone Containers, bringing the score to 5-1. In the third period, Dempsey Insurance wasn’t looking like a first-place team when Pistone Containers scored four more goals to secure the victory. Pistone Containers went into the semi-finals round as the last place team, but showed everyone they were underestimated as they took out first-place team Dempsey Insurance. Pistone Containers was scheduled to play in the championship finals on March 25.

Ian Miller and Jared Libby scored a goal each in the first period for Blase Distefano, which gave them a 2-0 lead against Twomey & Legare Contracting. Abdiel Torre played excellent goalie for Blase Distefano, earning a shutout in the first period. Enrique Alvarado scored the only goal for Twomey & Legare Contracting in the second period. The final score was 3-1. Blase Distefano moved on to the championship finals against Pistone Containers, which was to be held March 25.
