Santa Parade 1 p.m. Sunday

It’s only mid-November, but Santa Claus will be coming to town this week.

The the 48th annual VFW Santa Parade is Sunday. The march will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bradford Fire Station.

The theme of this year’s parade is “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” Several local veterans will be honored, including Donald Jarvis who suffered a brain injury in Afghanistan this year.

After a hiatus of several years from the event, Haverhill High School’s marching band will participate. Other marching bands include North Andover High, Georgetown High, Salem High and Londonderry High.

Other highlights include bagpipe players, drum players, fire engine, military vehicles, antique cars and Clydesdale horses.

The parade wind its way along South Main Street, over the Basiliere Bridge, up Main Street to Monument Square, and end at the VFW on Kenoza Avenue.
