Book Chat session: The public library will host a Book Chat session March 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. This is an informal reader’s advisory group where participants can hear the latest fiction and non-fiction reviews and share what they are reading. Republican City Committee to meet: The public is invited to a meeting of the Haverhill Republican City Committee March 28 at 7 p.m. in the public library’s Johnson Auditorium. Committee Chairman William Ryan said state Rep. Lenny Mirra, R-West Newbury, as well as Tim Imholt, R-Andover, a 2014 Republican Congressional candidate have been invited to speak. The committee will discuss having a fundraiser/straw poll before the April Republican primary. Field personnel for the three Republican candidates will be looking for volunteers. Celebrity impersonator show: A group of Haverhill High School students will impersonate a variety of celebrities March 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the public library auditorium, 99 Main St. This event was postponed from Feb. 9 due to snow. The show is free and open to Haverhill residents over the age of 12. Enjoy an array of “star” performances in a two-hour show featuring students impersonating celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston and Brittany Spears. Free Easter community meal: Somebody Cares New England will host a free Easter meal for the community on March 31 at 12:30 p.m. This event will include a puppet show, face painting and Easter goodie bags for children and will be held at 358 Washington St. More information is available by calling 978-912-7626.

Chamber WOW Conference: The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce will hold its 17th annual Winning Opportunities for Women (WOW) Conference April 5. This day-long event will be held at the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury. Cost of the conference is $89 for chamber members and $99 for non-members.
