:Special Collections schedule to change: The Special Collections room at the public library will have different hours in the New Year. The room will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m., instead of Wednesday and Friday. Special Collections houses Massachusetts Vital Statistics, Haverhill photos, Haverhill High yearbooks, historical information about the city and genealogy resources. :Sacred Hearts to hold open house: Sacred Hearts School in Bradford will hold an open house on Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sacred Hearts offers a pre-kindergarten to grade eight program characterized by faith and values, a caring community, proven academic excellence, curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts frameworks and Archdiocesan guidelines, extensive extra-curricular programs, and before- and after-school programs. :School seeks alumni information: Sacred Hearts School is asking alumni to update their contact information online at sacredheartsbradford.org by clicking on “Advancement” then “Alumni.” If you know of any other graduates who would like to become involved, please let them know how to reach the school.

:Library offers winter programs: The Langley-Adams Library in Groveland is offering a variety of programs this winter. Beginner’s Watercolors with Christina Kelly is Jan. 7 from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Materials will be provided. Registration is required because space is limited to 12 people. Local author Andre Dubus will discuss his latest book “Townie: A Memoir” Jan. 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a book signing and question-and-answer session. A community pie-making and tasting contest is Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. in recognition of National Pie Day. Pies will be judged by librarians, members of the Council on Aging and several well-known members of the community. The winner will be appropriately rewarded. Bring your pies and your appetites.
