Santa Fund now accepts online donations

---- — As we move into the holiday season, The Gazette Santa Fund is giving people from the Haverhill community a chance to help their neighbors in need.

And this year, you don’t have to leave your home to make a donation.

The Gazette has a new online site where people can donate to the fund.

Just use the link hgazette.com/santafund and the instructions will appear.

You can also donate the old-fashioned way, by mailing a check to the Gazette Santa Fund, care of The Eagle-Tribune, 100 Turnpike St., North Andover, MA 01845, or by dropping off a donation at The Eagle-Tribune offices at that address.

If you mail or drop off a donation, you can fill out a coupon appearing inside the Gazette to go with the donation.

You can also write your name and address on a separate piece of pa per. Donors can list the name of someone in whose memory the money is given.

All money donated to the fund is distributed by organizations such as the Salvation Army and Community Action to Haverhill people who need help during the holidays.

Last month’s 43rd annual Haverhill Gazette Santa Fund Hole-in-One Contest at Garrison Golf Center raised $5,232 for the fund, an increase of 25 percent over the total from last year’s contest.

Garrison owners Ted and Mary Murphy encourage residents to donate to the fund so local families who are struggling can have a good holiday season.
