The Lamp Post

The Lamplighter wants to give a shout out to Richard Borelli of Bradford. Borelli will be showcasing his blue 1947 Ford Coupe at the 38th annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels Custom Car and Motorsports Expo. The expo is March 30 and April 1 at Boston's Seaport World Trade Center.

Free gas? It's an offer that would catch anyone's eye. The Lamplighter was recently driving by Mike's Garage, just outside of Monument Square at 37 Kenoza Ave., when a sign caught his attention. It says "Free Gas" and to visit online at mikesgarageservice.com. The Lamplighter visited the site, which directs you to a page that explains the offer. Customers who spend $100 on labor qualify for $20 in free gas. Spend $50 on labor and get $10 in free gas.

Officials are still trying to determine the caused of the early morning fire at 477 Washington St. that killed an elderly woman — but they have released some information on the investigation. They said the use of oxygen in the triple-decker allowed the fire to spread quickly.

The Lamplighter hopes that everyone was able to spend at least a few minutes this week to enjoy the beautiful weather in the city. The spring weather means that summer is just around the corner.

Best of luck to Tom O'Brien as he takes over the Haverhill High baseball head coaching position. O'Brien is juggling athletic director and head coaching duties, something that is always a difficult task. The Lamplighter hopes that everything runs as smooth as possible with the Hillies this season.
